President’s Message

There are a few of you out there that may wonder why is the NAACP relevant today.  In some instances, our members are asked what is the NAACP doing in our community and why should I join? These are critical and poignant questions. First and foremost, I would like to take the time to address our relevancy or perceived relevance. We are a social justice organization that advocates for our collective community which means informing and protecting citizens civil and human rights.  Unfortunately, all citizens have not been afforded the opportunity to drink from the river of prosperity and have access to equal opportunity. We are an active change agent to address the challenges in our community. Below are the key areas that we are actively creating action plans for implementation. All of these areas of advocacy are essential for all citizens to enjoy the pursuit of happiness.

  • Criminal and Civil Justice
  • Economic Development
  • Educational Quality and Equity
  • Financial Literacy
  • Political Action and Awareness
  • Public Health and Safety
